FUN FILLED WEEKEND!

This weekend we had so much going on which I was totally dreading, but it turned out to be super fun!! On Friday night, we were invited to a block party with some families from our ward. There are about 5 families from church that live in our tiny little neighborhood so we thought it would fun to get together. It was great to just hang out and get to know everyone. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay too long because I promised my sister I would make Hunter's birthday cake for his first birthday party on Saturday. So when we got home, I started his lamb smash cake as well as the sheet cake for everyone else. I stayed up super late trying to get things done, but still had to turn around and wake up super early to finish them both off. Thank goodness the party didn't start until 2pm because I needed every minute I got to finish. (P.S. For those of you who don't know, I work way better under tons of pressure so I usually wait until the last minute to do everything which usually leaves me running around like my head is cut off!) Meanwhile, Billy was baking cookies for our ward Christmas party that was that night, getting Logan ready and helping me with everything else. We got to Crystal's and they loved both cakes which was all that mattered to me! It was a great party and Hunter was so stinkin cute the whole time! We were totally bummed because we had to leave early (again) so we could get to the church to set up for the Christmas party. I am so grateful for the other couple who are on the activities committee because they really did most of the stuff. We also got tons of help from people who arrived early so thankfully everything got done just in time! The party turned out great and I think that everyone really enjoyed themselves! On Sunday, I had to do some stuff for work while Billy and Logan went to church. Afterwards, we went to my sister's house and had an early Christmas dinner with them and Scotty's parents. It was so yummy! Then we decided to go to Opportunity Village which is this huge place that has a forest of lights, a train, carousal, etc. We got there and it was FREEZING!! Crystal and her family ended up leaving early, but Billy, Logan and I stayed until we got to ride everything. Logan was kind of whiny because he was so cold and tired, but it was a blast! :) I can't wait till next weekend!!!

Scotty & Hunter, Crystal, and Billy and Logan riding the train!

Logan riding the carousel. We had to let people go in front of us so we could be first to pick because he just HAD to ride the zebra! And poor little guy was so cold that he stole my scarf!

CATCHING UP!

It seems like ages since I have written anything. With all the fall activities and happenings lately, I have just been too busy to even think about blogging. Since I am feeling alot better now (I'm finally past my first trimester) and slowly getting my energy back, I decided it was time to play catch up. So here is a brief recap on all our recent doings.

HALLOWEEN
We had a blast this year trick or treating. My sister's neighbor invited all of us to their Halloween block party so there was tons of food and even a little fire pit. The house lots are so big (the neighborhood is gated and on a golf course so it's pretty fancy) that they got a trailer to go trick or treating because it would be way too far to walk. Billy was a fat princess in a tutu, Logan was Optimus Prime and I was a lame mom who didn't dress up. Logan got so much candy and had so much fun!

ANNIVERSARY
Billy and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on November 16th. I have to say that I probably have the best husband ever. We try to stick to the traditional gift list and this year Billy totally out did me. It was candy and iron. He went to the candy store and got me all of my favorite candy and then got me these cute little cast iron skillets to make brownies and cookies in. Crystal and Scotty watched Logan for us while we went to dinner at Carraba's which is one of our favorite places. It was a great day!

BABY'S FIRST PICTURE
The time had finally come to go hear the baby's heartbeat, but when Billy and I got there the nurse tried for about 15 minutes and couldn't find anything. I was totally calm on the outside, but on the inside I was really starting to get nervous. They decided to take an ultrasound to make sure he was doing ok. They found him pretty easy, but the dr. took a couple of minutes to get the picture steady. Finally he did, and all of a sudden you could see the baby kicking and punching! I was so excited just to see any movement! It was awesome! I can't wait to find out what the sex is. Billy and I are hoping for another boy so keep your fingers crossed!

THANKSGIVING
We went up to St. George this year to spend Thanksgiving with Billy's family. It was great to see everyone, but I was totally bummed because it rained all day long. We didn't get to go outside to throw the football around or anything. I HATE THE RAIN! My sister and I sorda have this tradition that if we don't get to spend the actual day together then we do a turkey dinner that weekend together. So on Sunday, we went to their house and had the whole spread again. It was delicious and we had leftovers which is always a plus!

HOSPITAL
We had our first trip to the hospital with Logan on Saturday. He was playing at the playground and went mouth first into the metal steps of the slide. He immediatley started crying and his mouth was already full of blood by the time I got to him. As far as I could tell, he had a pretty bad cut on his gums and the inside of this lip. I waited an hour or so to see if he would be ok, but his mouth just kept bleeding so Billy and I decided we should take him to the hospital just to be safe. Luckily, he didn't need any stitches. He just got some penicillin and some Tylenol with Codiene for the pain. He is all better now, but the whole day wore me out. The funniest part of the whole experience was when they were trying to take his temperature. He wouldn't let them take it under his tongue so they had to do a rectal one. As soon as they stuck it in he started crying "ouwie in my bummy." I felt bad for the little guy, but couldn't help but laugh.

Whew, that was alot. My early New Year's Resolution for 2009 is to make sure to write something at least every 2 weeks. Since I am not great at writing in a journal this will have to suffice for now, and I expect all of you guys to make me stick to it of course! :)
