FUN FILLED WEEKEND!

This weekend we had so much going on which I was totally dreading, but it turned out to be super fun!! On Friday night, we were invited to a block party with some families from our ward. There are about 5 families from church that live in our tiny little neighborhood so we thought it would fun to get together. It was great to just hang out and get to know everyone. Unfortunately, we couldn't stay too long because I promised my sister I would make Hunter's birthday cake for his first birthday party on Saturday. So when we got home, I started his lamb smash cake as well as the sheet cake for everyone else. I stayed up super late trying to get things done, but still had to turn around and wake up super early to finish them both off. Thank goodness the party didn't start until 2pm because I needed every minute I got to finish. (P.S. For those of you who don't know, I work way better under tons of pressure so I usually wait until the last minute to do everything which usually leaves me running around like my head is cut off!) Meanwhile, Billy was baking cookies for our ward Christmas party that was that night, getting Logan ready and helping me with everything else. We got to Crystal's and they loved both cakes which was all that mattered to me! It was a great party and Hunter was so stinkin cute the whole time! We were totally bummed because we had to leave early (again) so we could get to the church to set up for the Christmas party. I am so grateful for the other couple who are on the activities committee because they really did most of the stuff. We also got tons of help from people who arrived early so thankfully everything got done just in time! The party turned out great and I think that everyone really enjoyed themselves! On Sunday, I had to do some stuff for work while Billy and Logan went to church. Afterwards, we went to my sister's house and had an early Christmas dinner with them and Scotty's parents. It was so yummy! Then we decided to go to Opportunity Village which is this huge place that has a forest of lights, a train, carousal, etc. We got there and it was FREEZING!! Crystal and her family ended up leaving early, but Billy, Logan and I stayed until we got to ride everything. Logan was kind of whiny because he was so cold and tired, but it was a blast! :) I can't wait till next weekend!!!

Hunter eating his yummy birthday cake!

Scotty & Hunter, Crystal, and Billy and Logan riding the train!

Logan riding the carousel. We had to let people go in front of us so we could be first to pick because he just HAD to ride the zebra! And poor little guy was so cold that he stole my scarf!

CATCHING UP!

It seems like ages since I have written anything. With all the fall activities and happenings lately, I have just been too busy to even think about blogging. Since I am feeling alot better now (I'm finally past my first trimester) and slowly getting my energy back, I decided it was time to play catch up. So here is a brief recap on all our recent doings.

HALLOWEEN
We had a blast this year trick or treating. My sister's neighbor invited all of us to their Halloween block party so there was tons of food and even a little fire pit. The house lots are so big (the neighborhood is gated and on a golf course so it's pretty fancy) that they got a trailer to go trick or treating because it would be way too far to walk. Billy was a fat princess in a tutu, Logan was Optimus Prime and I was a lame mom who didn't dress up. Logan got so much candy and had so much fun!

ANNIVERSARY
Billy and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on November 16th. I have to say that I probably have the best husband ever. We try to stick to the traditional gift list and this year Billy totally out did me. It was candy and iron. He went to the candy store and got me all of my favorite candy and then got me these cute little cast iron skillets to make brownies and cookies in. Crystal and Scotty watched Logan for us while we went to dinner at Carraba's which is one of our favorite places. It was a great day!

BABY'S FIRST PICTURE
The time had finally come to go hear the baby's heartbeat, but when Billy and I got there the nurse tried for about 15 minutes and couldn't find anything. I was totally calm on the outside, but on the inside I was really starting to get nervous. They decided to take an ultrasound to make sure he was doing ok. They found him pretty easy, but the dr. took a couple of minutes to get the picture steady. Finally he did, and all of a sudden you could see the baby kicking and punching! I was so excited just to see any movement! It was awesome! I can't wait to find out what the sex is. Billy and I are hoping for another boy so keep your fingers crossed!

THANKSGIVING
We went up to St. George this year to spend Thanksgiving with Billy's family. It was great to see everyone, but I was totally bummed because it rained all day long. We didn't get to go outside to throw the football around or anything. I HATE THE RAIN! My sister and I sorda have this tradition that if we don't get to spend the actual day together then we do a turkey dinner that weekend together. So on Sunday, we went to their house and had the whole spread again. It was delicious and we had leftovers which is always a plus!

HOSPITAL
We had our first trip to the hospital with Logan on Saturday. He was playing at the playground and went mouth first into the metal steps of the slide. He immediatley started crying and his mouth was already full of blood by the time I got to him. As far as I could tell, he had a pretty bad cut on his gums and the inside of this lip. I waited an hour or so to see if he would be ok, but his mouth just kept bleeding so Billy and I decided we should take him to the hospital just to be safe. Luckily, he didn't need any stitches. He just got some penicillin and some Tylenol with Codiene for the pain. He is all better now, but the whole day wore me out. The funniest part of the whole experience was when they were trying to take his temperature. He wouldn't let them take it under his tongue so they had to do a rectal one. As soon as they stuck it in he started crying "ouwie in my bummy." I felt bad for the little guy, but couldn't help but laugh.

Whew, that was alot. My early New Year's Resolution for 2009 is to make sure to write something at least every 2 weeks. Since I am not great at writing in a journal this will have to suffice for now, and I expect all of you guys to make me stick to it of course! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILLY!

It was Billy's birthday this past Saturday and we had a fun filled day. First, Logan and I surprised Billy with cinammon rolls in bed. I had been practicing for 2 weeks with Logan on singing Happy Birthday, but I was a little worried that he wouldn't remember. As soon as Billy woke up, though, and I started singing Logan was right on cue and sang the whole song with me. It was so cute! Then, we got to go see the dolphins and the white lion habitat at the Mirage thanks to our great friend Shane. He works there so he gave us the VIP tour! After that, we went to Scotty & Crystal's house and had a super yummy BBQ. Scotty grilled some carne asada which was the BOMB!! Then we got to wrap up the night watching the UNLV football game and some UFC fights. It was a great day!

Logan and Hunter got to touch the dolphins tail!

My two favorite boys!
Scotty, Crystal & the cutest nephew ever, Hunter!

The dolphins were so close. It was awesome!

Me and my monkey!

We got to go in the observation room. The dolphins spotted Logan and kept coming back to look at him. It was probably the hair!

Our family!

The white lion pups were super cute!

I can never get enough of these two!

THINGS I'D DO!

I know I always talk about how busy Billy and I so I decided to make a list of all the things I would do if I had more time on my hands. So here are the things I'd do if I had more time:

- go to the park with Logan every chance I could
- read a GREAT book
- organize everything in my house
- paint my toenails a different color at least every other day
- learn how to take great photos
- perfect the art of decorating a cake
- finally start a scrapbook
- cook something different every night of the week
- take Harley on daily walks
- have more movie nights that include my couch, some popcorn and my cute husband

I guess I could keep going with this list forever. Now all I have to do is start making time for each of these!

WE ARE HAVING ANOTHER!

After trying for almost a year, Billy and I are FINALLY going to have another baby! We are super excited and are very grateful for this blessing. This past year has been a struggle with alot of frustrations since I didn't get pregnant as quickly as we hoped I would. Along with that, Billy and I got out of the habit of going to church every Sunday so we lost that comforting feeling that it would all work out. When we moved to our own house, though, we realized how much we missed being a part of a ward family and feeling Heavenly Father's spirit so when we moved in, we found our ward and made a promise to ourselves that we would work hard to become active again. Well as soon as we started going to church and doing the things that we were supposed to be doing we found out we were pregnant. All I have to say is WOW! I have always had a testimony that Heavenly Father will bless us if we are obedient, but this experience has strengthened it so much more. It is so relieving to feel like someone is watching out for us again and to know that no matter how high the highs are and how low the lows are we are going to be just fine as long as we keep our promises to him! :)

MY LITTLE BATMAN!

Logan LOVES Spiderman, but recently has been all about Batman which I think is adorable! He is my own little personal Dark Knight! :)

He even wears his Batman mask to bed, but only when he wears his Batman pj's. He won't wear it when he wears his Spiderman pj's because heaven forbid he mix and match his super heroes!

NEW CALLING!

So Billy and I have have been in our new ward now for about a month and we love it! Everyone is super nice and friendly. We are so excited because this past weekend at church we got our new calling! We are on the activities committee which is just in time for all the holiday fun! I have to say that this is right up my alley. As much as Billy and I loved being primary teachers, I think I will like this even better! We get to help coordinate the Halloween trunk-or-treat, the Thanksgiving shoot out, the ward Christmas party and all the other fun things that happen during the holidays. I can't wait to get started! :)

ANOTHER PARTY?!?!

Logan's actual birthday was yesterday so Billy and I had a little mini family party for him with just the three of us. We got him a cookie cake with some candles and he got to open the gifts that we had gotten him. He stayed up late playing candy land and drawing on his new easel. He had so much fun.

P.S. I want two parties for my birthday! :)

LOGAN'S 3RD BIRTHDAY!

I think since my sister and I never got to have actual birthday parties when we were growing up because we have holiday birthdays, I have some subconscious thought that Logan has to have a big bash every year. This year he chose Batman as his theme so we threw him a Batman pool party. It was at Crystal and Scotty's house so there was plenty of room to run around, and they even surprised him with a big bouncy house which was definitely the hit of the party. He got spoiled with too many presents including an awesome Spiderman bicycle from auntie and unckie, but also got tons of board games which Billy and I are super stoked to play with him. The stress of getting a party together for 25 adults and 9 kids was a little overwhelming, but to see how much fun Logan had made it all worth it!

I'M BACK

So I know I was only on here for like a week and a half and then went MIA, but now I'm back and hopefully to stay. So much has happened this last month so I'll try to keep it short. First off, Billy, Logan, Harley and I decided that it was time to get our own place. After living with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew for about 2 1/2 years we thought it was just time to be our own little family again. I have to admit that it wasn't an easy break up, but in the end all is well. We love our new home and are settling in quite nicely.

A week before we moved we got to go on our annual California vacation. Billy and I decided that we really wanted to do alot with Logan while we were there this time so this is how our week went: Dodger game, LA Zoo, another Dodger game, Discovery Science Center, one more Dodger game, Aquarium of the Pacific, Camarillo to Billy's grandparent's house, Camarillo Street Fair, Malibu Beach and then finally we got to come home. Even though it was a jam packed week and Logan got a little cranky at times, we had a GREAT time!

When we got back we had to hurry up and move and then get ready for fall semester to begin. Billy started Pharmacy school and I started my umpteenth semester at UNLV. One day we will both be done. :) Now that our busy month is over we can stop and relax a bit... and go to work, and go to school, and study and do homework and raise our 3 year old son. AWWWWWW!!! :)

SO MUCH FUN!

Well, I finally decided to do one of these. Actually, I'm totally copying Bridgette, but it looked like so much fun to be able to jot down my thoughts and ideas that I had to jump on the band wagon! I'm going to take advantage of this cool new way to express myself in hopes that I won't sound totally cheesy or be totally random, but if I am then you'll know that I am totally just being myself! :)
